To validate the track you must finish one lap of the track to make sure that it is compatible with Trackmania Turbo. Now that you're in the classic track editor, hit the yellow flag in the bottom right corner of your screen to validate the track. Now you have to select a style for the map that you're converting. A new dialog box should appear asking you if you want to save your map before converting it, hit Yes. I'm not sure why, but Ubisoft's server does not seem to like custom track names with letters, so what you have to do is click on the track and select Edit on the track that you want to upload. My guess at the moment is that author names carry over at random, as I've tried to replicate this using various methods without any luck.
